OIG Reports $17 Billion In Fraud Recoveries And Savings
The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) issued its semiannual report June 13 for the first half of fiscal year 2005. Of the $17 billion in savings and recoveries reported, $15.6 billion was in implemented recommendations and other actions to put funds to better use, $266 million came from audit receivables, and $1.1 billion was attributed to investigative receivables.
